The journey of the Orange Koi continues – on and on upstream!

In spring 2018 the Orange Koi was spotted for a short time of period. We didn’t hear anything about the Koi for a long time. But now the Orange Koi is back, and he is not alone. A huge swarm of Orange Kois is heading toward us. On his journey he came across well-known and faithful companions which joined the journey – BEAMS Tokyo and Asics!

In plain terms: The Afew X BEAMS X Asics Gel-Lyte III “Orange Koi” is here! Also, a matching Afew X BEAMS “Orange Koi” Collection will be available. This repeated collaboration with BEAMS Tokyo and Asics shows the ongoing close German-Japanese friendship.

Bento Box – Afew Exclusive

Additionally we have created the special Orange Koi Bento Box for the instore release of the Afew X BEAMS X Asics Gel-Lyte III “Orange Koi” at the Afew-Store. We have produced a limited quantity, so there is no guarantee for the special box. This “Bento Box” also will feature a seed-box with a special Afew Future Koi Camo bandana, Incense sticks and a history booklet.

Why the orange koi fish?

The koi fish is being special to us for a few years now. Since we have created the first 1-of-1 handmade Edition of the “Koi” in 2012 and released the official Afew X Asics Gel-Lyte III “Koi” in 2015 the koi fish is always around us. Early 2018 we kicked off the “Year of The Orange Koi”. The orange colored koi is a very special subspecies of the koi fish and depending on how the light reflects on it, it has a golden shine.
