The skating sommelier Toni Askitis has collaborated with the well-known glass manufacturer Schott Zwiesel to have his first wine glass refined according to his ideas. In doing so, Toni remains true to the motto of his digital brand #asktoni: wine is uncomplicated – and so is his glass. The classic glass of the traditional German brand is an excellent all-rounder and, thanks to the famous #asktoni hashtag as a mousse point, is not only ideal for red and white wines, but also for sparkling wines.
For the launch, Toni is initially offering a limited edition in collector’s boxes. For this, the Wuppertal street art artist Hoker One was engaged. The glasses are stacked in their packaging to form a wall and sprayed by Hoker One with #asktonis motto “Wine is uncomplicated”. Thus, the sum of the individual parts makes a whole and each individual box is unique.
Toni’s deep roots in hip hop culture make for an unusual distribution channel in the wine world. The glass is available exclusively at the renowned sneaker store Afew. On Feb. 20, 2021 from 12-6 p.m., a window sale will take place at the Afew store on East Street. Where Kool Savas usually gives a small concert, the 187 Straßenbande receives their fans and masses of people regularly wait for new sneaker releases, Toni takes over the command for a few hours. From 22.02.2021, the glass in the box will be available exclusively through the online store afew-store.com.
