Space Jam: A New Legacy

The sequel to the 1996 cult comedy “Space Jam” features another basketball superstar. Instead of Michael Jordan, LeBron James meets the Looney Tunes around Bugs Bunny and Lola Bunny. Live-action films and cartoons blend into one another in the cartoon blockbuster, forming the late sequel after nearly 25 years. The hybrid film is also a return to the roots of the Tune world, with a mix of Looney Tunes and basketball heroes. Directed by Malcolm D. Lee, LeBron is taken to the virtual world along with his youngest movie son Dom. In there, he must defeat the villain Al-G Rhythm’s basketball team along with the Looney Tunes to free himself and his son back into the normal world.

In addition to the worldwide release of the film, collaborations also follow. The Converse x Space Jam releases a pack, with themed sneakers. The signature collection includes a Pro Leather OX, a Chuck 70 HI, and Converse’s latest silhouette, the Run Star Motion HI, among others.

Signature Collection

The clean silhouette of the Converse x Space Jam Pro Leather OX is dedicated to the bunny lady, Lola Bunny. The upper is made of smooth perforated leather in white and is contrasted by gold Star Chevron elements made of fur. On the heel, there are embroidered Lola Bunny graphics and pink color accents in addition to the gold accents. Next to the star chevron elements is the “Tune Squad” lettering. A blue Lola Bunny lettering on the heel completes the design.

The Converse x Space Jam Chuck 70 HI is dedicated to LeBron James himself. The design is inspired by the Looney Tunes Squad and features such lovely design details. Colorful rings, as well as the Tunes embroidery on the heel contrast the otherwise black canvas upper. The Converse logo has also been adapted, through the font, to the Tune Squad details.

The intergalactic Run Star Motion HI brings the “Server-Verse” print to a sneaker in the collection based around the new Space Jam: A New Legacy movie. Converse classic logo has been adapted, both on the ankle and tongue to the Looney Tunes designs. The platform sole matches the rest of the design and is also color-coordinated with it. The CX foam midsole ensures the usual wearing comfort.
